The theme for 2025 is flowers and sarubobo. Sarubobo is a Japanese word which means baby monkey. It is a lucky charm mainly associated with the city of Takayama. I decided to have sarubobo in my 2025 drawings during my December 2024 trip to Japan.
Another thing I wanted to achieve was to create a pop out effect. I wanted the flowers to seem like they are popping out from the card. Thus the long window in the design.
